Lucy Baverstock steps up from U23s to Leicester Tigers Women’s senior squad
Fullback Lucy Baverstock joins Leicester Tigers Women’s senior squad, becoming the fourth player to progress through the club’s U23 pathway.
Leicester Tigers Women have added fullback Lucy Baverstock to their senior squad through the club’s U23 programme. She has already linked up with her teammates and will combine rugby with her studies at the University of Nottingham.
According to Leicester Tigers, she is the fourth player to make that step through their U23 pathway. The university is also Tigers Women’s performance partner.
Director of Women’s Rugby Fraser Goatcher praised Baverstock’s athletic qualities, commitment and work ethic, crediting both her efforts and the development programme for her progression.
Baverstock said she had been spotted at an U23 pathway trial and wanted to build her experience alongside the senior players.
“I’m looking forward to learning from the coaches and players around me, developing my game and gaining valuable experience within such a great environment,” Baverstock said.
