Leicester City held 2-2 as Turhan equaliser denies fourth win in five
Leicester City twice led Stevenage at the King Power Stadium, but Tugra Turhan's late equaliser denied the Foxes a fourth victory in five.
Leicester City missed out on a fourth victory in five matches after Stevenage twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at the King Power Stadium.
Russell Martin’s team were undone by substitute Tugra Turhan, whose equaliser came with 12 minutes left. Playing his first league match for Stevenage, the teenager linked up with fellow substitute Chem Campbell before finding the net from an angle.
Turhan, who is on loan from Istanbul Basaksehir, cancelled out the advantage Kamari Doyle had restored in the 66th minute. Doyle scored after goalkeeper Tommy Setford diverted a Will Alves effort into his path.
City had needed just 67 seconds to open the scoring. Stevenage could not clear a cross from Luke Thomas, allowing Sammy Braybrooke to claim his first senior goal for Leicester.
That early lead lasted until the 22nd minute. Alex McCarthy failed to hold Phoenix Patterson’s cross, spilling the ball at Ben Broggio’s feet for the visitors’ first equaliser.
Doyle put Leicester ahead again, but Turhan’s finish ensured the home side had to settle for a point, according to the Press Association match report carried by BBC News.
