The Met Office’s yellow wind warning runs from 10am until 9pm, covering much of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, according to Leicester Mercury. Gusts could reach 55mph, with heavy rain also expected.
For Leicester residents planning to travel, the advice is to check timetables and conditions before setting off, whether driving or using public transport.
The Met Office also advises gathering essential supplies in preparation for possible disruption, including torches, batteries and a mobile phone battery pack.
