Two taken to hospital after Red Hill Way crash following police pursuit
Two people in an Audi were taken to hospital after a crash on Leicester’s Red Hill Way involving a VW Passat previously pursued by police.
Two people were taken to hospital after a crash on Leicester’s Red Hill Way on Wednesday 4 November involving a car that had earlier been pursued by police.
The pair were travelling in an Audi A5, which collided with a VW Passat. Leicestershire Police said they were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers had encountered the Passat in Leicester city centre earlier that morning, but the car drove away from them. A pursuit was authorised as it travelled across the city.
The officers pursuing the Passat lost sight of it. The car was found at about 11.25am, after it had been involved in the collision with the Audi on Red Hill Way.
Leicestershire Police said two people who had been in the Passat left the scene before officers arrived. The force’s enquiries into the incident are continuing.
Red Hill Way was closed while emergency services responded to the crash. The road has since reopened.
